Villa Mazza
Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Villa Mazza is a large and luxurious two-level country house located in a prestigious gated community in Tortugas, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Designed for a well-known businessman-developer and his wife, a famous journalist, the home offered a serene retreat from their busy professional lives while also serving as a perfect venue for hosting large gatherings with friends.
As the designer, the challenge was to maximize the use of the irregularly angled plot, ensuring that the clients' vision for the home was realized. Through a series of collaborative meetings, we combined ideas to create their dream home, a balance of elegance, functionality, and style.
The ground floor features a grand living room that seamlessly connects to the expansive garden through a rhythmic series of four identical French doors, creating a harmonious flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. The tall ceilings and graceful proportions of the room give it a sense of grandeur, making it the centerpiece of the house. This visual connection with the garden leads to a beautiful swimming pool, designed for both relaxation and entertainment.
The front of the house is narrow and positioned at an angle in relation to the street, with a stone-paved area that functions as an open garage, blending practicality with the home's overall aesthetic. The neo-traditional architectural style of the house is enhanced by modern touches, a response to the clients' desire for a timeless yet contemporary look.
On the upper floor, the house includes a luxurious master bedroom with a spacious walk-in closet and three large bathrooms. Two additional bedrooms complete the level, providing ample space for family and guests. The carefully crafted interior spaces, combined with the thoughtful use of natural light and elegant finishes, ensure that Villa Mazza is both a private retreat and a welcoming venue for the couple’s social gatherings.
Villa Mazza stands as a model of stylish neo-traditional design, adapted perfectly to the unique angles of the plot and the sophisticated needs of its owners.
