Penthouse Transformation:

Segbroeklaan, The Hague

MVAA led the reconfiguration of a penthouse apartment in Segbroeklaan, The Hague, for a family of four, with the primary goal of maximizing space and enhancing functionality. The flat, which enjoys expansive views in all directions, overlooks the serene Segbroeklaan landscape area, creating a uniquely scenic and connected living experience.

To optimize the layout, MVAA collaborated closely with structural engineers to modify the apartment’s existing structure, enabling fluid connections between living, dining, and bedroom areas. By reducing corridor space, the design maximized room dimensions, allowing for large, fully equipped bedrooms, an ensuite bathroom, a guest powder room, and a dedicated laundry area.

The open-plan kitchen, adjoining a compact terrace, was crafted down to the millimeter, combining practicality with style.

With the clients deeply involved in the design process and hands-on work, this project became a rewarding experience, resulting in a refined family home that balances function, comfort, and a unique sense of place.
